Rockport, Ma?

Am traveling to Rockport, Ma and was wondering if anyone had the scoop on the Seaward Inn.
Also, any great places (not fancy)to eat good seafood and lobster?

I lived in Rockport for 10+ years. Nothing against the Seaward Inn, but personally I would prefer to stay "in town". I like getting up, seeing the ocean and walking to breakfast, shops etc.

If that appeals, I would recommend the Peg Leg Inn or Captain Bounty's Motor Inn. They aren't fancy but CBMI is directly ON the ocean. Super location. I believe both provide parking.

Ellen's Harborside is an institution; not fancy-just wholesome. If you get to Essex-try Woodmans for lobster; also an institution and the Clam Box for fried clams.

Do not disregard Woodman's in Essex for fried clams. IMO, absolutely the best, and leaves the Clam Box buried in the sand! (Just my opinion -- people up that way have severe preferences!)

IMO Farnham's in Essex easily tops Woodman's. So say all North Shore/Cape Ann locals I have ever spoken to on the subject.
