ROCKEFELLER CENTER RESTAURANTS
We will be in the city to see the 5:00 show at Radio City. Would like to take the kids to eat before-hand. We are looking for a casual restaurant in the area. We don't want to leave that area in order to eat. Thanks for any suggestions.

It really isn't that far over to Carmine's or John's Pizza on 44th. Both offer good (not fancy) food at a reasonable price. Enjoy the Christmas show, it's wonderful!

1 Block away from Radio City is the Heartland Brewery (51st Street just west of Ave. of the Americas), big, noisy, inexpensive, and basic American food. It was mobbed last Friday night AFTER the 5:30 show, but it should be fairly empty if you are planning to eat BEFORE the 5PM show.

yankee:
directly across the street from Radio City is Chez Louis. Restaurant downstairs. Causual cafe upstairs. The downstairs makes a mean Roasted whole chickn that is carved at your table.
Have fun!

Whatever you do, DO NOT eat at the TGIF's there. We were at Rockefeller center looking for a kids menu so we went in. The food was disgusting, even for a TGIF's, the place was dirty, which we didn't notice until after we ordered and the kids were starving, and the bill for lunch was $60. Do yourselves a favor, steer clear!

DO NOT eat at Carmine's.

Rock Center Cafe and The Sea Grill are both very good restaurants in Rockefeller Center looking out at the ice skating rink.

Chez Louis is closed.
