Rockefeller Center Ice Skating

We will be in NYC from 3/26 - 4/2. Can't wait! Can anyone tell me if the Rockefeller Center ice skating rink will still be open? Also, are retail stores (Macy's, Bloomie's) open on Easter Sunday? Lastly, what attire is appropriate for Broadway plays? We have tix to Spamalot! Thanks for your help.

It's open until April 8th.

Not sure about the stores on Easter Sunday (do a google search)

You'll see all types of attire at Broadway shows. Be comfortable but not sloppy. I usually wear black slacks and shoes and layer with sweater/ shirts/ jackets as needed per the weather.

Dept stores generally closed on Easter Sunday.

Macy's will be closed on Easter Sunday, but not every store will be -- some smaller stores may be open for holiday shoppers.

For Broadway shows, it's true, you see people dressed all sorts of ways. Starrsville is right -- you can't go wrong with black. When friends of mine come, I usually tell them something dressy -- something above jeans/t-shirt.

Enjoy Spamalot!

Have you skated at the Rock rink before? It's tiny! If you are a skater, you may also want to try the Wollman Rink in Central Park.

I tried to find when they closed for the season with no luck. I suppose that's because it's more dependent on the weather.

Here's the link anyway - http://www.wollmanskatingrink.com/winter/home.shtml

I didn't know the Trump organization owned Wollman Rink either.

If you haven't before, be sure to take a carriage ride in Central Park. Sure, it's touristy, but it's nice.

Thanks for the link to the Wollman Rink. I haven't been in a few years but it's a great place to skate.

I don't think it is owned by the Trump Organization, but it is operated by the Trump Organization and they re-built the rink for the city and they did it in record time and under budget.
