Roadtrip from Chicago to Philadelphia
 

My family and I are taking a road trip from Chicago to Sesame Place (Philadelphia). What route is the easiest and best to take. Google is directing me either I90 to I76 or I90 to I80.

"Easiest" would, indeed, be I-90 to I-76. I.e., the Indiana Turnpike to the Ohio Turnpike to the Pennsylvania Turnpike. I don't recommend I-80, as that takes you WAY far north of the Philly area.

Near Philadelphia, the PA Turnpike and I-76 split; the former becomes I-276, and the latter goes to downtown Philly. Stay on the PA Turnpike (I-276) until Exit 351, which is US Highway 1. Go north on that road until you get to PA Highway 213, then go east on that road; it goes right to Sesame Place.

The "best" route depends too heavily on what you mean by "best" for me to give a useful answer. The one above is the fastest and the least likely to result in you getting lost, but it is the least scenic, and has the added cost of turnpike fees.

The info definitely helps! As far as "best", I've read that the mountains and turns in PA are a pain! Is it pretty much the same either way I go?

I was also planning on maybe spending the night in Pittsburgh.

I'm not sure what you mean by a "pain," but you will have to go over the Appalachians to get to the East Coast. Both the PA Turnpike and I-80 are major thruways; so the climbs, descents, and curves are not major problems -- at least for me.
