Road Trip to Florida

Road trip to florida. We want to spend the night south of Atlanta. Any recommedations for a hotel off interstate 75, outside of
Atlanta?

If you are looking for a hotel to simply crash for the evening on I75 south of Atlanta, you will find a large selection, but don't count on any 4 star accommodations. We have stayed in Holiday Inn Express and also LaQuinta's. They are usually clean and the prices are reasonable. If you can stop at the welcome center on your way into Georgia, they usually have discount books with coupons that make the stay very reasonable.
Good luck!

Hello highbay ;;) Good advice.

The Mount Zion exit has a couple of hotels with some decent chain restaurants including the Atlanta Bread Company.

Another option is to head a bit further south and spend the night in Macon - ditto the restaurant choices. Those are my favorite options south of Atlanta.

If we have to stop, we usually try to go all the way to Valdosta and stay at the Country Inn and Suites--nice, friendly hotel staff, lighted parking, clean, decent breakfast.

There's a Country Inn and Suites on Mt. Zion Parkway as well (I-75 South, Morrow, GA). Restaurants within 1/2 mile = Chili's, Longhorn, On the Border, Steak 'n Shake, Chik-Fil-A (with Truman Cathey's antique cars in the parking lot), Smokey Bones BBQ, Joe's Crab Shack, Atlanta Bread Company, Carraba's, Friday's, and Roadhouse Grill. Olive Garden, Cracker Barrel and Red Lobster are within 3 miles. Hmmm... sounds a bit like the chain restaurant while traveling thread!

I'd suggest the Drury Inn, in Morrow. We've stayed there on our way to Florida, and have had good experiences at that as well as other Drury Inns in other states. Good value for the money. Free cocktails and snacks, which are nice when you come in off the road. They also have a free hot breakfast. Here's the url.

We've also stayed at the Hampton Inn Atlanta Southlake, in Morrow, also, though we prefer the Drury. Here's the url for that:

I don't know how many there are of you, but The 1842 Inn in Macon is a wonderful bed and breakfast. My husband and I have stayed there twice. They also have a website if you are interested.
