Road trip Missoula mt. to walla walla WA

We are planning on driving from Missoula to Walla Walla on Hwy 12. first week of May. Any suggestions for this trip?

How many days do you have?

That's prime time for visiting the Washington Palouse - google images for "Palouse spring," "Steptoe Butte," and "Palouse Falls" to see what I'm talking about. Magical.

If you have more time, google "Enterprise Oregon" and "Wallowa mountains" - equally eye-popping in the spring.

Sorry, should have said "Joseph Oregon."

If you have an interest in wine, check out the Doubleback winery. http://www.greatnorthwestwine.com/20...edsoe-podcast/
Although he grew up in the Walla Walla area, Drew Bledsoe chooses to live in Bend Oregon.

There are some natural hot springs along the Lochsa that are a short hike from the road. Jerry Johnson is an easy hike and a fun stop.

How much time in Missoula? I have a lot of restaurant recommendations if you're staying there.
