Road Biking Trails or Paths in Illinois

We are trying to get away for 2 or 3 days of biking (from Wisconsin) and would like suggestions for any great road touring areas or paths, we have both road bikes and hybrids but would prefer using the road ones. Any suggestions for lodging, dining, sights would also be appreciated.

I'll get you started, but I've never cycled in WI :

Kacollier, if you go to the Chicago Botanic Garden website, there is an option (under Visiting the Garden - then under section for Bikes) to see the biking trail that runs from the Chicago Bike Trail system all the way up through some of the northern suburbs in the nature preserve areas.

Check out this website for maps:

You can order trail maps from various parts of the state; its a great resource.
