Rivera Hotel
 

I'm attending a convention at the Rivera in Las Vegas in October. I, recently, heard that the hot water takes "f o r e v e r" to get to the upper floors. Does anyone have any other comments about this resort (negative or positive)? Thanks ....

Oh, one other thing: You might look into user comments on travelocity.com for balanced assessments on LV properties, as well as the ever-popular cheapovegas.com site.

I have stayed in this hotel/casino a few times in the past, and enjoyed my stay, especially as a new visitor to Vegas way back then. The location is not the greatest, however you have a few of the older casino's around you. This is an old casino. You don't spend alot of times in the rooms anyway, so for the price it's not a bad deal. Circus circus is directly across the street. The "Riv" is good old Las Vegas.

I stayed at the Riviera my first time in Vegas. Our room was beautiful - it was the first time I was ever impressed with a hotel room! Very clean and all new furniture. The pool area, though not as big and impressive as other LV pools, was very nice...there was grass planted around the pool (rather than acres of concrete like other LV pool areas), and it was uncrowded and quiet and pleasant. The casino was old, dark, and smoky, but we didn't mind as it's the only casino where we actually won some money! I don't remember any problems with the water.

I've stayed there a few times and enjoyed my stay each time. On my last trip the desk clerk happened to be from our city and upgraded us to a pool-side suite. The only down side is the location but I always rent a car so location means very little to me. Enjoy!
