Ritz Carlton - Lake Las Vegas?

My husband and I are tossing around the idea of making reservations at this hotel for our anniversary in August. It is fairly new and appears to be about 20 miles from "the strip". Any comments from people who have stayed at this hotel or in Lake Las Vegas? Is it too far from the downtown area?

We stayed at the Hyatt there and I loved it! It's quiet, it's peaceful and after the strip, a welcoming oasis!! Drive time is 20-30 min in, depending on where on the strip you are headed.

I also just stayed at the Hyatt. I'd say if you're going for relaxation and a resort-like feel - go for it. It was very pretty, quiet and they have just opened up a nice casino next to the Ritz for those gamblers that just have to gamble. I think it's called Casino MonteLago? If, howver, you want to be on the strip or in Downtown Vegas every day or night it gets very annoying driving out there. I'd say, with parking, it's more like 40 minutes out, longer to downtown.
