Ritz Carlton Laguna?

We were thinking of staying at this hotel until I learned that there's no separate shower and tub-- just a combo. That kind of configuration always makes me feels as if I'm staying at some motel, not a supposedly luxury property. I'd appreciate getting feedback about the hotel. Is it quite splendid in other ways? Are the views pleasant if one gets a garden view, rather than an ocean view? (not sure we can afford ocean view).
Thanks for any details, advice, etc.

stayed several times at the Ritz Laguna and it is a wonderful hotel.
I always book a garden room but always get upgraded.
never noticed the shower/tub thing..recall it is separate with a whirlpool tub.
always book the cheapest room and work up from there.
Surf and Sand resort is another fave of ours in Laguna too..have you checked that hotel out?

READ the TA reviews for that property....I did and changed my mind but to each their own.

It's a Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel..one of the most affluent areas in the world..first of all, TA is a mixed bag and if you gather all your knowledge from one website, that is sad.
If you changed your mind because of a couple of reviews from TA who knows where they come from, its even sadder.
Take it from someone who has stayed several times..it is a 4.5+ hotel and have always had a great time and the service was impeccable!
The Montage is another great resort too.

We stayed there a year ago and really liked it, better than other Ritz hotels, even.

We had purchased a garden view, but actually had an ocean view on the ground floor with a lovely patio.

The hotel and its ground are gorgeous.

Their service is excellent, too. Lots of workers everywhere, all of them happy to assist you.

It deserves every one of its stars!

Have stayed there - it is nice and you can seem to get good rates now that there is the Montage and the St. Regis -

You have to take a cart down to the beach or walk down a VERY steep hill in case you have any mobility issues.

I had a room that was pretty much just a standard hotel room but nice - the service is excellent.
