Rihga Royal into London Hotel query
Hi - I have been following TripAdvisor reviews re Righa Royal which is undergoing renos and turning into London Hotel. I booked there for late Sept with hubby and 11 yr old daughter cause it is all-suite and we love our space, and good location. But now I am worried that (a) renos will not be completely finished and hubby would be most upset;(b) it is turning into a cold modern stark place which we would hate; (c) no doors on bathrooms or closets according to reviews; (d) size of rooms changing from bedroom + living room to open plan (I think).
Can Fodors folk give me opinions please? Thanks |
I think if you're concerned you should change your hotel. The Blakely is nearby and has suites and is more traditional decor.

Thanks mclaurie, you are always on top of NYC posts.
I will check out Blakely. Any other input also please? |
hi- i stayed at the Righa in April and enjoyed it. We asked for a renovated one bedroom suite not facing the street when we arrived. Our room was delightful! Very art deco. there was definitely a door on the lovely bathroom. Tub and separate stall shower.
French doors separated the bedroom from the nicely furnished living room(with a sleep sofa) Lots of closet space. Only downside was no breakfast in the hotel. However, we soon discovered a Metro cafe across the street, as well as the Stage Deli (yum) and breakfast became no problem. The location was perfect as we were going to a broadway show one night and the opera the next night. |
This doesn't sound like the reviews on TripAdvisor! I would be fine with what you have described.....

Why don't you phone the hotel? You can easily ask about doors on bathrooms and closets and whether you'll get 1 large room or 2 separate ones.
