riding dirt bike on beach

We are planning to go to Daytona for bike week in 2003. We are stayng on Merritt Island. My husband wants to take his dirt bike , does anyone know about riding dirt bikes in that area. Thank you , Lynette

Riding dirt bikes on a beach erodes the beach and cuts years off the time it takes for the ocean to reclaim the land. Idiot.

You can ride a dirt bike on the beach, but think puttering at a speed limit, not ripping up and down the beach. It is enforced like any 2-way street with a speed limit, etc. So yes, you could take a dirt bike, but it wouldn't be any different than riding a scooter or 4-wheeler.

Sorry Lynette, Got to agree with Jim in content if not in sentiment. The name calling was inappropriate. Please do understand that dirt bikes ARE incredibly destructive not to mention loud and smelly. Apparently you can take them almost anywhere but you will run the risk of hearing lots of negative comments by people who actually like their vacations quiet, clean and nondistructive.
