Ride Share DEN to CB 3/18
We are looking for a few others to share a van service from Denver Airport to Crested Butte on March 18 departing in the afternoon.
We found one company that goes: http://www.coloradotour.com. Preferably it would be a one way as we have a ride back to Denver with friends already staying in CB. We are headed back to Denver on the 22 though if you wanted to share round trip. |

$540 one-way for six? Can't you rent a car for 5 days, that costs less than that?
|
The Denver airport is not the most convenient airport for CB. You will not find many who fly to Denver for CB.

The OP has probably locked into his flight plans. Actually, it's perfectly reasonable to fly into Denver.
I did a quick check on Kayak, for 3/18- 3/22, and found premium SUVs for $92/day, which seat up to 8: http://www.kayak.com/cars/Denver,CO-...-18/2015-03-22 5-day rental @ $92/day = less than $540. |
What about flying into Gunnison to go to CB?

While some may think Denver is convenient, you have a drive of over 225 miles approaching five hours in good weather. Most of the drive is on two lane roads. Throw is some bad weather which is possible in March and you could have a pretty demanding drive. Unless you are locked into a Denver RT, I would look to flying into one of the nearer airports. Crested Butte just happens to be in an area that is a little difficult to reach with public transit.

Get the impression OP doesn't want to drive. I totally agree with fmpden on weather and roads. Also, one way rental to CB would not be viable IMHO. If not too late consider Montrose. About 100 miles of good 2 lane roads. No passes, hills yes, but pretty good except in major blizzard. May have van services as Montrose has become an important airport for skiers.

I'm not referring to a one-way rental. Obviously, that wouldn't work!
Since he's traveling March 18, he must have airfare locked down by now. Too late to think of a better flight plan. |
