I'm looking for a not-so-expensive restaurant in Richmond to take my family, something that the locals love. We'll be staying in the city for a night on our way to the OBX.

Any recommendations?

Where will you be staying in Richmond? The first two places that come to mind are Buz & Ned's BBQ on Boulevard and Comfort on Broad Street. Buz & Ned's has great baby back ribs and all the fixings. Recommend the mac and cheese and onion rings especially. Comfort is very good southern food. The catfish is outstanding and there are lots of sides to choose from.

I have actually dined at Comfort (with the above poster LOL) and it was fabulous - loved the fried green tomatoes!

Here is a link to another thread on Richmond restaurants. There are lots of good restaurants that we locals know about. More info about where you're staying and what kind of experience you're looking for would be helpful.

thanks for the ideas ... don't know where we're staying yet. We're hoping to get into town at dinner time and leave the next morning to OBX. I don't know a thing about the areas of the city ...

Comfort sounds great!
