Rhode trip

Considering a drive from Charlotte,NC to Providence(well,Harrisville actually)Rhode Island this month, never attempted the drive previously, wanted opinions as to wisdom of this choice? No one I personally know has made the trip in recent past so I would like some experienced response(s).Thanks.Looking at the 20th-28th if it makes any difference.

So what's your problem? 95 traffic? Or why would anyone go to Burrillville?

Since you can't read please don't respond.Surely there's a site out there for non-readers with time on their hands...

john,

I recall last summer there was a post asking a similar question - w/exception I think the drive was from NJ or Manhattan to the Providence area. Try doing a Rhode Island search on this forum - as there were some good driving routes (and I think, alternatives). While the post did not include NC, it did have lots of info on I-95. If I find it, I'll post here; perhaps some of the info will be helpful.

Now John, don't get so testy.
You have an 800 plus or minus drive. It will take 10 to 14hours to get to Harrisville a village in the Town of Burrillville. Most of it on 95. You need to get around Washington, thru New York and New Jersey. It is not a pleasant drive. Lots of traffic. If you can relax and not get into the rage in which you answered my post you will be OK. Yes I have done it. Not my favorite ride.

Hardly a "rage".And why couldn't you just supply your comment as such initially, without the attitude then?Regardless, your input is taken under consideration.Thanks.

john,

I tried a fodors 'search' but could not reference last summer's post. If you are giving serious consideration to travel from Charlotte to Providence, think you should repost and include I-95. Last summer we drove through NJ to Providence on a Friday, using I-95. It was agony. The traffic early in the day was gridlock. There may be alternative route from NJ to Providence, making your trip faster.
