Rhinebeck B&Bs?

My husband & I stayed at The Beekman Arms a couple of years ago. We're planning to visit the area again & with all due respect, I do not wish to go back. I say that because it seems to be a favorite on these boards. This time, I'd like to try someplace else, maybe with a better breakfast. Also, is it too much to hope for a room with a nice tub??? I'd love to hear about other B&Bs in the area.
Thanks!

You might want to look at the Gables..I think they have a website. It is in town, a really pretty building.

Try www.thelookingglassbandb.com. We stayed there a yearor so ago and enjoyed it. If you Google Rhinebeck,N.Y. or Hudson valley, you will find several inns that may suit your needs.

Sorry I can't respond to you accommodations question, but I did want to say that I absolutely agree abt Beekman. We were at Bard College a few weeks ago (stayed at a guest house on campus--lovely), and I was curious abt Beekman, so I checked it out-- totally unappealing (also the worst meal we had). Wanted to say that Gigi's restaurant was absolutely superb; Petit Bistro also, but we liked Gigi's even better. Good luck finding a good B&B.

Thanks all. To clarify, I have no problem finding B&Bs, I was just hoping to get some personal recommendations. I will look into all your suggestions.
I also want to second Gigi's- we've had brunch , lunch & dinner there & it's never let us down. Their tuscan fries alone are worth the trip! Looking forward to going again on this trip.

Just stayed at the Beekman and agree. I would suggest you look at The Veranda Inn. It's on 9 just beyond the Delmater and looked very nice.

I have had a couple of wonderful stays at Whistlewood Farm (3 miles from Rhinebeck)as recently as last week! It's a horse boarding farm with 4 rooms in a main house and 3 in a separate carriage house. Quiet location, relaxed informal atmosphere, great cooked to order breakfast, all-day dessert table. Not cheap but some large suite-type accomodation in the carriage house. Well worth the trip from Scotland.

Stayed at Looking Glass when it was Sleeping Beauty, from the website I would say that it is up to the same standards. I like it because in addition to nice accommodations, you could walk to town (under 5 minutes). Nice place.
