Visiting Rhinebeck for a few days when we fly to the States next week from the UK.

Is it really as warm as the forecasts indicate? and driving around that area what are the 'must see' places to visit/

Advice please.

If you consider the high 40s and low 30s to be warm, (in farenheit), then I tip my hat to you. Plan on frost and cold, and a prevailing north wind to set the windchill even lower.

Check weather.com for their ten day forecast.

If you like scenery, lots to see. My favorites are Olana and Montgomery Place. Also check out the Vanderbilt Mansion and the FDR historic site.

Temperatures in NYC have been in the 60s during the day and just slightly lower at night for the past week, but it will probably be cooler by next week. If you are looking at NYC forecasts, you aren't going to get a good idea of the weather up in Rhinebeck, which tends to be much cooler. It's amazing what that 100 miles difference can make in terms of temperatures. But it's still not frigid winter weather by any means.
