Returning to your fave island (Kauai, for me) but what haven't you done?
As you may know from my posts, I'm obsessed with Kauai. This May, DH & I will return for our 5th trip! This trip we are bringing along my brother and his fiancee for their first time to Hawaii.
I got to thinking...reading trip reports and Vicki's travel blog: http://vicki-h.travellerspoint.com/51/... although I've made several trips to Kauai, and will make many more , there are plenty of things I can think of that I haven't done.
Here's my list:
Banana Joe's
Farmer's Market
kayak Wailua River
slack key concert-Hanalei
surf lesson
re-attempt Kalalau trail (first/only attempt May 07; we have a picture from a part of the trail that overlooks Ke'e; would love to make it to the beach/possibly the waterfall 2 miles past the beach
spend more time at Ke'e; only spent one afternoon there during 07 trip
Maha'ulepu Trail
Hanalei Okolehaou Trail
hiking on the West shore
shave ice (never had one!)
I'm sure I can add more!
What haven't you done although you made many returning trips to your island? This could help to add/give ideas of what else to do on your return trips.

Stayed sober???
Still haven't had a shave ice. I do hit Tropical Dreams tho.
Haven't tubed a ditch yet.
Since we always go in the winter (one quickie in June for the Taste of Hawaii) never did the NaPali Coast boat tour.
Never had the mac-nut pancakes at either Kountry Kitchen or Ono Family so I can be the true judge of which one is better.

I remember there was some great shave ice in Waimea, Kauai - Jojo's I think it was called. I always get it with ice cream and azuki beans...and the key is finding a syrup flavor you like. I go for the more exotic flavors of lychee, guava, and lillikoi.
I have never had a surfing lesson, ever. I honestly don't think I am very interested in surfing. I may try stand up paddle boarding though.
Also have never been to a luau! I have had my share of traditional Hawaiian food (Helena's and Ono's on Oahu), but me and the hubs are not really one for shows and we'd rather spend the money on a nice dinner somewhere. My parents claim I have been to a luau when I was very young but I do not remember it at all - so that doesn't count, right?
Enjoy your trip louistraveler! Please do report back!

been there 12 times and have done just about everything we want to do except bike riding the paved trail in Kapaa. Had to miss it on last trip as hubby was real sick and we just didn't make it. Next trip for sure..... If you haven't done Tubing, it is a blast and the Kauai Museum is a great small museum in Lihue.

Been traveling to Hawaii for over 30 years and still haven't been to a luau.
Want to do the art walk in Hanapepe and now I want to ride the bike trail in Kapaa
Sunset dinner at the Beach House
Perhaps when my nephew gets a little olderit will be time to try tubing.
