Resturants in Las Vegas
 

I am going to Las Vegas in June and I was wondering if there were any wonderful resturants located on the strip that are not to miss.(Resturants that are reasonably priced). We will be staying at the Monte Carlo so anything close to here would be even better. Also are there any not to miss attracions and does anyone have any good advice on transportation around Las Vegas?

If that doesn't work for you, please tell us a bit more about what you like, price ranges, etc.

For now I really like the brew pub at Monte Carlo for a beer and lunch or casual dinner.

Well, we do not like to pay very high prices. Places under $20 would be the best. We really like Mexican, American and are willing to try new things. ~Where do you recomend a quick breakfast? Bagels, Muffins that sort of thing. That is near or in the Monte Carlo? Thanks

Under $20.00? Try MacDonalds or Hardees. Or one of those gagging buffetts

It will be quite hard to find an actual restaurant under $20 per person for dinner, unless you are just talking the price of the main entree. Maybe try some of the buffets for that price? Or in the Venetian we ate one night at Cafe Lux which is owned by the Cheesecake Factory. Not very expensive and the portions are very large, good for sharing.

But really if you do a quick search on Las Vegas you will see tons of reviews on attractions and restaurants.

Las Vegas had the cheapest decent quality food of any major city in the USA until about 7-8 years ago. Things have changed. There are still a few casino-based bargains but quality is usually mediocre at best.

The options under $20/person total cost are limited to some of the more average buffets, chain places like Chipotle, and the many delis and bakeries scattered throughout the various casinos (Stage Deli, bakeries at Paris and Venetian, etc).

Grand Lux cafe lists at average of $25/person in Zagat, though I know you can eat carefully at Cheesecake Factory and GLC for $20 if you don't order dessert and alcohol. But you can find those same types of places all over the country.

The Monte Carlo has a food court that has the breakfast type items that you describe plus great coffee. There is also a restaurant just to the South toward NYNY that has nice sit down breakfasts. I don't remember the name, kind of like a Dennys type. I believe it starts with a "C"

The brew pub in MC is a great lunch or casual dinner place but it turns into a dance club later in the evening.

NYNY has some interesting food areas plus ESPN Zone. Long as you are there check out the dueling piano bar.

MGM has a Rainforest Cafe if you have never been to one.

There are plenty of places to get dinner for $20 each just like in most towns across America. The MC buffet can be done for dinner at that price or less. Nothing special but it will fill your tummy with lots of variety.

There is a Mexican restaurant at the Venetian on the canal.I cannot remember the name, but it was fairly inexpensive and good.You should easily do it for $20. a person.

Several have said it before me - any search of Las Vegas will produce tons of information.

I do recommend that you can eat cheap in the lower level of Ballys including pizza, etc.

I agree with placeu2 about the microbrew pub. Also, the last time I was in the Monte Carlo they had an italian resturant that was very good and reasonable.

New York, New York has a deli and plenty of cheap food spots. The deli is one of the best.

Transportation - if taken cabs keep in mind the direction of travel. You can save plenty by walking across the strip to catch a cab. The meter is ticking while waiting at lights and turnarounds. Avoid cabs during high traffic hours like the 3:00 p.m. shift change.
