Resturant abreviations

Could anyone tell me what the abreviations after the resturant reviews stand for in the Fodor's guides, for example: AE, D, DC, MC, V

Those are the credit cards they accept..MC..Master Card, V..Visa...DC...Discover...AE American Express and so on.

Those are common in American reviews of restaurants and hotels. It refers to the type of credit card an establishment will accept in payment (AE=American Express, D=Discover, MC=Mastercard, V=Visa, DC=Diners Club). If there are none of those, I guess it must be cash only.

You can also use some help in the spelling category: It's Restaurant Abbreviations!

I can't understand why when the question was adequately answered by the first responder it was necessary for 4 more responses to the same question to pop up.

But Mar 11th, 2002 03:56 PM

But, of course, anon, it's okay for you to comment!
