Restaurants, Trails and Other Fun Things to Do

We will be in Chattanooga for two nights, Gatlinburg for 4 nights, and maybe Asheville for 1 night. We have booked a little cruise one evening in Nooga, and plan on booking zip-lining in SMNP, but I need help on the best trails with waterfalls, and views that aren't too hard (you know, no CPR needed), restaurants and other fun things. (I do know about Cades Cove...but thats about it)

I did pick up a couple of discounts certificates on Restaurant.com, but then I read the reviews of the restaurants and thought I better keep looking. We like steak, home-cooking, and Italian mainly. A French restaurant would be nice too...BBQ if its as good as Kansas City BBQ.
Also, is the a wine bar anywhere in Gatlinburg?

Can't wait to get there!!! Thanks Ya'll!

"booked a little cruise one evening in Nooga"
What is "Nooga"?

Since Kassanna metioned being in Chattanooga for two nights, I assume Nooga means Chattanooga.

Your mention of a French Restaurant made me laught! I live in East TN and have found the food in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge/Townsend to be very touristy with lots of chain restaurants. I believe some of the nice B&Bs may have dinner options you may be able to book if you are not staying there but I wouldn't got to that area looking for fine cuisine. I don't know of a wine bar in Gatlinburg - but there now a "legal" moonshine distributor that sells liquor - ha! I have done the Wahoo zip line in Sevierville and enjoyed it, but several others have opened in the last year, but none are IN the park. There are multiple hiking trails - stop and talk with one of the staff at the Sugarlands Visitors Center and they can direct you to one that fits your requirements. If not you've not been up to Clingman's Dome that'a very scenic drive with a short, paved hike to the observation deck.

If you are trying to entertain kids, then Pigeon Forge/Sevierville has they will ever want - including a minor league baseball ballpark. If you are looking for a quieter area with less traffic, stay in Townsend. Have a good trip.

Just a note since we have returned from our trip...
I wished I had booked an extra night in Chattanooga. Their waterfront is SO nice and I really wanted to go to the aquarium. They should be proud of their waterfront area by the way.
We took a little Tennessee river cruise that was GREAT!
Our hotel, The Chattanooga Choo Choo was great too. We ate at The Station House and all the waiters sing...and very well I might say.
Once I figure out how to post a trip report I'll tell you more....The Smokies were definitely worth the trip. I even got video of a bear! :)
