Restaurants the week after NYE
 

My DH wants to take me on a birthday trip to Charleston in early January- right after NYE. We have done this before and found a lot of restaurants closed for deep cleans and staff rest/rejuvenate in places we visit. Can anyone tell me if this is what happens in Charleston at some or all of the must-go places? We can easily push the trip to the following week. TYIA.

Charleston is great that time of year, but right after New Year’s, some restaurants do close for cleaning or staff breaks. It’s not all of them, but enough to affect your plans. If dining is important, it’s better to go the following week when most places are open again.
