Restaurants recommendations for downtown Nashville please
I will be at the convention center for 12 days in July on Commerce St. Looking for restaurant recommendations(places that are worth the money). Even better would be early bird specials as we have to eat early. Might be able to take the car out if there is a special place a drive away. Thanks.

We visited Nashville last Fall and used "Insiders' Guide to Nashville" as a terrific resource. Found good BBQ - twice and the Country Music Hall of Fame is a must see...give yourself a lot of time. I know you want restaurant recommendations, but the museum is terrific.

If you have a car & can get out to the Vanderbilt University area & want a typical southern meal real cheap, try "meat & three" at Sylvan Park restaurant.

Demos downtown is good but not glamourous. If you have a car, get on Broadway and go up to the Vandy area to Bricktop's which is my favorite place in Nashville right now. If you go up Broadway and veer to the left you can go to Tayst which is my second favorite.

Check out this thread from the Nashville newspaper for our local restaurant critic's favorites.
http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs..../ENTERTAINMENT Capitol Grille (lunch and dinner), Carolyn's (just lunch) and Parco Cafe (just dinner) are all within walking distance of the convention center. I think Eastland Cafe, Margot's (my favorite) and Watermark are all worth the short drive. |
