RESTAURANTS NEAR WTC
 

Does anyone have a list of the restaurants that need to be supported in the area of WTC since the attack? We'd like to eat a meal at one of those that has reopened to assist with their recovery. Thanks.

Just happened to catch a Food Channel live show the other night, and she focused on restaurants in the area who had pitched in to help feed the rescue workers and were trying to gear back up. Can't recall the names (except maybe TriBecQue Grill?) But I'll bet the Food Channel has a website...

glad you asked, Michael's of Broadway on 65 Broadway (a little south of wall st, downstairs). The owner is a friend of mine. SHe was temporarily out of her business and her home. She's now back in business and back at home. They are closed on weekends. Most of their business is lunch and after work drinks but they are also open for early dinners. We are planning a big party there in Dec.

There are lots of restaurants in Tribeca, the neighborhood just north of WTC. You can do a search by neighborhood on zagat.com. <BR> <BR>To name a few: Fleur de Sol (tapas), Roc (Italian), Duane Park Cafe, Tribeca Grill, City Hall (steak and seafood). Of course, some of the city's priciest restaurants are also in that neighborhood (but seem to be doing fine): Nobu, Chanterelle, Montrachet.

Hubby and I ate at Alison on Dominick last night to support the Windows of Hope charity. The management told me that although things are beginning to pick up for them, it has been very very tough. This is a wonderful, small restaurant on Dominick Street off of Canal. Wonderful french continental cuisine. I highly recommend it.
