Re: upcoming trip. We will have a few nights that we can both eat out and then nights when DH eats out alone. I got these from AAA -- how are they and am I correct that they are close to Spring Suites on 2nd?

You might want to go to www.chowhound.com and ask your restaurant questions or do a search on that website. It's a great website for food related questions.

Dadd goes up there often, and they enjoy Michael's. I've only been up there once, but I recall Michael's, as a kind of an old steak house, Frank Sinatra music, kind of place. If you find some fine dining up there, Debi, let us know! annieladd

Debi, create a google map for 1125 2nd St SW, Rochester MN and then choose "find businesses" and enter restaurants.

You'll see the nearby restaurants and some have reviews. So far, Victoria and the Redwood Room have reviews.

It appears the pickings are somewhat slim in Rochester.

We have been to Michael's many times and to Chardonnay and liked them both. I am not sure of where they are in relation to your hotel so can't comment on that. Yes, Michael's is a steak house and we liked it a lot - we stayed at the Radisson Plaza and it was not far away - across the street I believe.

Thanks for the input. I did in fact post on Chowhound and got some ideas there too. As it happened, Rochester Magazine just had it bet Restaurant issue based on readers votes! Good timing. I will pick up a copy of it when we arrive.

cabovaction -- we leave tomorrow on 8 am flight out of Durango.
