Restaurants in Valdez?

Hi there. Does anyone know of any good restaurants or places to eat in Valdez?

The only place that I have seen mentioned is Mike's Palace.

My wife and I will be on vacation in Alaska this September for 2 weeks.

Thanks!!

mollyandandy: When we were there, we found a salmon bake at the top of a hill overlooking the harbor. It was good food and a lot of fun. You eat outdoors. Salmon and side dishes are the only choices. Not at all fancy, but a good time.

Even though it's fast food, I never fail to eat at the Halibut House.

It wasn't fancy, but we had surprisingly good Mexican food at Ernesto's.

With Budgetqueens recomendation we ate @ the Halibut House 3 times. Halibut basket was $7.99 & catch of the day was $4.99 (cod) It was good, clean & thrifty.

Hi - found this string of postings from a couple of years ago and was wondering if anyone has been to Valdez recently. My husband and I are heading there next week and are looking for a few good places to eat. So, far we're definitely planning on the Halibut House after BudgetQueen's recommendation. Does anyone know if the salmon bake is still there, and if so, if it's any good? Also - any idea about how much it costs? Any other places besides the ones in this post anyone would recommend? Thanks!
