restaurants in springdale utah
 

My husband and I will be staying in Springdale over his 65th birthday. Any recommendations on a good restaurant would be appreciated. We love good food and wine and will take any/all suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Most of the restaurants are pretty casual. For a special occasion, you might try the Majestic View Steakhouse. www.majesticviewlodge.com/steak.html
It's a little farther out from the park entrance, so is quieter than the other places right in town. The views and food were great when we were there last August.

lvk---I cannot get that link to the previous thread to work.

regarding majestic View steakhouse, do they serve other dishes besides steak? Grilled chicken or fish? Is their beer good? do they also serve wine? Would this be the best place for a celebratory meal?

I see you like wine but if you are also into micro/craft brews, Majestic View Lodge has Zion Canyon Brewing as part of it, they brew onsite.

Thanks to all for quick replies. The thread was great. We have gone to the Bit and Spur before and had fairly good Mexican food, however the marguaritas were very good. I've seen mixed reviews on The Spotted Dog but I like the idea of small and intimate. We've never been to Zion Pizza and Pasta or Oscar's. I realize we are limited in our choices. I've even thought of going to Brianhead or elsewhere however the thought of just staying in town is more enticing. We are staying at the Desert Pearl which is always nice. Thanks again for you kind advice.

Is it OK if I keep the discussion going? I have never been to Zion/Springdale but am going with a group in late September, and trying to figure out what to recommend to the others for dining. Some are from the UK.

How does the Zion Lodge compare to others like Majestic View for dinner? Food, views, ambiance, and service?

Or would Majestic View be a better choice for our group celebration? I know the UK visitors do like steak, and love a good brew.

Sorry about the bad link. I'm having a terrible time with these forums lately, and my search took forever.

I wish the Majestic View had an online menu, because I don't remember the other choices, although I'm pretty sure there were fish and pasta items.

Upon driving into Utah from Arizona there is a visitor center. There, I picked up a bunch of brochures for attractions at Zion. One of them had the menus of most of the Springdale restaurants in it. DH saw the bison filet mignon on the menu and decided that was where we were eating that night. :) I can't compare it to the Zion Lodge, as we only stopped in there to get the kids an ice cream cone.

I think it would definitely be appropriate for a special group dinner.

I too looked online for a Majestic View menu and found none, so it's good to know that we can pick up menus at the visitor center. My husband and I will be in Springdale for one night ahead of the group, so we'll have a chance to scope things out.

How was the bison filet?

We liked Oscars very much..great salads..fab dressing. We were in Springdale in Sept 3 years ago, and we were there in early Feb this year. Zion Piza and Pasta was not open in Feb.. quite a few places were closed. Bit and Spur was open only on the weekends..but it was good. It was very starnge to be there in the winter, but it was beautiful anyway.

Of the places I've eaten in Springdale over many trips, I always go to and really like Zion Pizza & Noodle. Very casual, but wine and beer on tap, excellent pizza and pasta and good prices. Always busy, CASH ONLY!

I tried Oscar's last time based on recommendations from other Fodorites and I thought it was just ok. I had a quesadilla.

Once I tried the Spotted Dog and sat at my table for over 25 minutes without being able to get the attention of a waiter to give my order. People who had been seated after me were already eating their dinners. I walked out and told them why on the way.

Once had dinner with a friend at the Switchback Grill at the Zion Park Inn (BW) and it was surprisingly good with a decent wine list and good service.

The little cafe at the entrance to the park at the visitor's center is also surprisingly good.

I was also going to mention this place, where we had a very good meal, but it seemed hopelessly declass&eacute; after all the other recommendations for cool places. But since Dayle recommended it I'll second it :)

We had a very good meal at the Switchback Grille, which is associated with the Best Western Zion Park Inn.

I want to eat there again.

Of course it has been a few years since our visit, but we had two absolutely terrific dinners and gracious service at the Spotted Dog Cafe. I would definitely return.

Zion Pizza &amp; Noodle was nice, good pizza, good beer selection and nice outside seating. But yes......CASH ONLY!

We were there last fall (gorgeous time of year!) and enjoyed a wonderful dinner with nice wine at The Spotted Dog.

We also had dinner at Zion Pizza and Noodle. Delicious pizza and salads. It's much more casual than The Spotted Dog.

I hope to go with with girlfriends within the next year and will definitely go back to both restaurants.

I don't know about katstony, but we will be there 3 nights, so will have the opportunity to try several places. I pass on all suggestions to the others.

Zion Pizza &amp; Noodle sounds like a must for a casual meal (and I've had good luck with Dayle's recommendations in the past!)

And we'll check out Switchback Grille.

Still wondering about Red Rock Grille in the Zion Lodge (inside the park). It gets good reviews on Tripadvisor (which for some reason the Spotted Dog does not).

We enjoyed our dinner at the Zion Lodge last year. We ate outside until the bees came out and then we had dessert inside. The views are fantastic too.
