Restaurants in south Myrtle Beach area
 

We are spending a few days in Murrell's Inlet later this week. Frank's is a favorite restaurant in the area, but I am wondering if there are others that we should also try. We might have fried seafood one night, but that would probably be it for this trip. Are there some hidden gems we might have missed?

Yes, you have missed a few!! And Frank's (we prefer OUtack) used to be our go to restaurant. Still is good, but......

Chive Blossom for a lunch or dinner. Small and loud at dinner (for us), Wonderful lunch.
Perrone's-- a not to be missed meal. Absolutely delicious menu. It is on 17 just past the entrance to Litchfield by the Sea
We LOVE Russell's in Murrell's Inlet and go at least once a trip. If you're gonna eat fried oysters (and who wouldn't!!), this would be the place to do it, IMO.
We also like Inlet Crab Restaurant in Murrell's for an informal dinner. You can make reservations which is a plus in high season.
Our kids (and us) like Bubba's Love Shack--mostly for lunch for eating outside on the water.
The Litchfield Inn has 2 good restaurants--more formal upstairs with viesws of the ocean. Less formal downstairs, but both are great menus.
We did enjoy the Wicked Tuna a couple of years ago and it is nice to be able to eat on the water.
If you are eating seafood at home, we go to Seven Seas market at the top of Murrell's Inlet for ours--or go to Georgetown to the seafood market there. Can't be beat for fresh crabmeat (we prefer "special").
Headed there ourselves the end of the month.

Speaking of Georgetown, is there a restaurant there worth the trip? There was one we've eaten in before in an old bank building. Is it still there?

In any case do NOT miss going to Georgetown and just driving around. There are now a LOT of restaurants but we haven't eaten there for a couple ofyears. Georgetown is just a true treasure of Revolutionary War era homes. LOVE it. There are a lot of restaurants with tables on the boardwalk overlooking the river.
And if you want something to do don't miss Brookgreen Gardens at Litchfield or the Hobcaw Barony just before the bridge to Georgetown. For the tour of Hobcaw you MUST make an advance reservation and they fill wuickly.
