restaurants in Sarasota/Longboat Key?
We're heading there (from Naples) for a one or two night visit. Would love to hear details about people's favorite restaurants in that area (both casual and "finer").
Thanks very much! |
We had dinner at a place called the Crab and Fin on St. Armand's Circle and we thought it was quite good. There is also an outpost of the Columbia Restaurant on SAC-- the flagship in Ybor City (Tampa) is an institution, specializing in Spanish/Cuban cuisine.
The NYT ran an article about Saraspta not long ago listing some restaurants we plan to try on pour next visit: http://travel.nytimes.com/2007/12/30...l/30hours.html Enjoy! |
Cafe Epicure in Sarasota is great!

Thanks for the suggestions!

There is a Flemings in Sarasota as well.

In Burns Court, there is a restaurant whose name is there address. 901 Burns- something close to that number! Fine food, and a lovely atmosphere.
Then on Hillview Ave. there are two restaurants. One is called Chutney's, the other Tables. Both excellent. If you search my moniker, you'll find the Sarasota trip report, from last year. There are probably a couple of more in suggestions there. |
Sorry- it's 501 Burns! Looked up my own trip report!
In the same Burns Ct. area is the Citrus Cafe. Great place for lunch. |
On your other post, I mentioned Cafe Bijou and Sangria.

Great to hear all these suggestions. Many thanks.

We spend 15 weekends each year in Sarasota/Longboat Key. For "finer" dining on Longboat Key, try Euphemia Haye. The downstairs bar booths are quaint and the atmosphere is upscale casual. Roasted Duck is a specialty. For more casual, contemporary dining, try Pattigeorge (PG's) with oustanding bay views and a diverse menu which includes fish, seafood, and asian inspired appetizers. A new addition to the dining scene on St Armand's Circle is The Bottle Shop with informal, casual dining downstairs and a more eclectic menu with "finer" dining upstairs. In downtown Sarasota on Main Street, the Selva Grill is outstanding. Fresh ceviche and Peruvian influenced specials are excellent. We also like 501 Burns and Rustic Grill. For breakfast, head to the Blue Dolphin with locations on LongBoat Key or St Armands Circle. We prefer St. Armands.
