Restaurants in LV
We will be in Las Vegas for 2 nights in January. I've been looking at all the restaurant choices and having a hard time deciding where to make reservations. We would like to eat in one of the "better" restaurants one of those nights and at a moderate one the 2nd night. Any kind of cuisine is fine and price wise we'd like to keep the "better" restaurant around $100 pp including wine. Is that possible? For a more moderate one, we'd like to stay around $50pp. We dont mind joint type places for really good food. Any recommendations would be appreciated

This is a bit south of places like Bellagio, but I have enjoyed the Twin Creeks Steak House at the Silverton Casino. I had to travel to Vegas to work on projects at one of the casinos for a year, and discovered this place. Not sure where on your budget it ranks, but you can get a really nice meal for a fairly reasonable price. https://silvertoncasino.com/dine/best-steakhouse/

If you have a taste for German food and/or good German beer, you could try the Hofbrauhaus on Paradise. My DW and I had a Christmas dinner there a few years ago. The meals came out on 3 plate racks. Every course was very good in our opinion. My DW is of German heritage and she was impressed with it.
For entertainment we had a man playing the alpenhorn. This would work for either a lunch or your moderately priced meal. My favorite all you can eat place in downtown is upstairs at the Golden Nugget. If you buy your meal before 3 PM, you get the same buffet for less money. If you sit at a table along the wall, you can see the Golden Nugget pool which has a slide that goes through the shark tank. Downstairs you can see the worlds largest gold nugget on public display (62+ lb). |
I am not a big fan of LV, but one of the best Thai restaurants I've been to is the Lotus of Siam in LV. Was turned onto it by a work colleague several years ago and try to get there whenever I can't avoid being in LV. The original location is closed for remodeling but they have a new one on E. Flamingo.

Thanks for your suggestions!
Seamus- Lotus of Siam has gotten a couple recommendations now. It looks like a good possibility. |
Make reservations early for Lotus of Siam. We tried to go earlier this month but couldn't get one. We had a great lunch at Jaleo recently. If you're considering any lunches, their 3 course lunch for $25 is a steal.

Westie posts TRs here frequently that include ratings of many of the places to eat in Las Vegas. put westie in the search box to find some.

Thanks, Patty! Lotus of Siam looks good and will make early reservations as you suggest.
emalloy, thank you! I will do that. |
Ate at Lotus of Siam and it was excellent. Totally packed. I had made a res about 3 weeks ago.

Second night we ate at Black Sheep which was also very good. Again crowded so reservations ware needed. Not on the strip, but in a shopping strip about 10 minutes from the strip.

Great that you enjoyed LOS. We were there about 8 years ago and had two dinners at Lotus, since we loved it so much!
