Restaurants in Clearwater Beach

I will be staying at the Hilton in Clearwater Beach for a conference. I am looking for good restaurants nearby (no car). <BR>I'm a vegetarian so I need a restaurant to have some non-meat/fish dishes.

This area of the beach is *starved* for good restaurants, let alone one with vegetarian fare. Your best bet for finding something that would appeal, may be at the Edgewater Hotel, just a couple of blocks to the north of the Hilton. They at least have a fairly decent restaurant and may offer some vegetarian choices. Will you have a car?

I highly recommend Frenchy's Cafe in Clearwater Beach. They have the best grouper sandwiches around. I don't recall what street it is on, but the staff at your hotel will certainly have heard of it as it is hugely popular with both locals and tourists. If you go on a Friday or Saturday night, be prepared for a long wait.

Do vegeterians eat grouper sandwiches?

I haven't been to Bob Heilman's Beachcomber in several years, but it's certainly worth looking into. Although the menu is primarily fish and meat, I've had some absolutely delicious vegetable salads there. I do think (or would like to think) that most restaurants currently offer vegetarian dishes even if it's a small portion of the menu.
