Restaurants etc. in Eugene

We are going to Eugene Oregon next week to check out the University with our son. Any recommendations on restaurants in that area? Thanks.

Since no one else has answered yet... I thought the food at the Oregon Electric Station was not the greatest but eating in an old railroad car was so much fun it didn't matter.
Marche, in the downtown shopping complex--either 5th Ave or 5th St., can't remember which--is excellent. So is Chanterelle which is nearby.....check out Oregon Best Places guidebook which is published by Sasquatch Books.

We lived in Eugene for several years and loved it (living in Europe now). Here are some of our recommendations:
1. Zenon's (downtown) on the corner of Broadway and Pearl. Offers both small and large plates. The local place to see and be seen. Can be noisy inside but on a warm sunny day, the outside tables can feel like heaven. Good selection of NW wines.
2. Best coffee is in the L & L Market on 16th and Willamette. Grab a table and a newspaper and you'll all feel like a true part of the local scene.
3. Excellent Japanese food at Shoji's on Willamette around 27th. Terrific sushi.
4. Good Greek and Indian influenced food at Poppi's Anatolia, also downtown.
5. The 5th Street market has a food court for casual dining. I'm not crazy about any of the places right by the university.
6. The High Street Cafe on High Street at 14th is our favorite of the McMenamin brewpub chain. Great atmosphere. For those not old enough to drink, order their delicious organic apple cider.

Eugene is such a wonderful town. Your son may love it so much he won't want to come home! If the weather is nice, visit Hendrick's Park (has a wonderful azalea garden). Also the parks along the Willamette on the downtown side. The river is really low at the moment, unfortunately. We probably enjoyed living in Eugene more than anyplace we've lived in so far, and that includes Seattle, Vancouver, Philadelphia, New York, Brussels, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Drive up into the southeast hills to see the mansions springing up for transplant millionaires from out of state. Walk along University Ave above 18th to see some stately older homes and attractive gardens.
