Restaurants at Carowinds?
My husband and I have decided to take the kids to Carowinds in Charlotte, NC next month, and I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there are any sit-down restaurants in the park? Someplace relaxing, with decent food and air-conditioning. I've searched the Carowinds site, and while they mention several restaurants, they don't go into any detail. After wandering around all day in the heat, I'm not going to want to eat fast food outside under an umbrella! Can anyone help? Thanks.

Topping--- still hoping for some info. Thanks.

Angela,

Take this with a big grain of salt because it has been many years since I visited Carowinds. But seeing as how there don't appear to be any Carowinds experts online today, here goes.

I doubt whether there are any restaurants that meet your criteria in the park. Unless there have been drastic changes, the focus is purely on the rides. There were several *sit-down* restaurants, but the food was okay if you're hungry--not horrible, but not what I would call decent either. As to relaxing, I doubt it--there will be loads of people all vying for the same tables. Don't mean to rain on your parade, but I think Carowinds is the kind of place you go to for pure amusement park thrills and little else.

Hopefully someone else with more current information will come to your rescue.

Thanks for the info, Chuck. I was afraid that would be the case. Here's hoping they've upgraded since your last visit!

I concur with Chuck's comments. Just went to Carowinds in May, and that was the case.
