Restaurant within walking distance of Discovery Place in Charlotte, NC?
Hi-- I'm looking for a kid-friendly restaurant near Discovery Place in Charlotte. The only place we ever wind up going in Fuel Pizza, which is "eh" at best. Good, inexpensive food-- thanks!

If you have kids and will be at Discovery Place, a block down the street is Spratts in Founders Hall, but I am not sure if it is open on the weekends. There is also Brixx Pizza on 6th street and they have sandwiches and salads in addition to pizza. Chick-Fil-A in OVerstreet Mall? Discovery Place has a little cafeteria in it if I am not mistaken. There is a Subway sandwich place in the IJL Building too - but again, not sure if it is open on weekends. So many places that would be cheap enough for kids really cater to the lunch crown Monday - Friday. Phil's Deli on 5th street in open on Saturdays though (between Tryon and College).

Thanks, y'all. I probably want to skip any sort of national chains (which I guess I forgot to mention in my original post), but those local places sounded pretty good. Thanks for the suggestions!

Another vote for Alexander Michael's- gerat hamburgers, great atmosphere, and tucked away at 9th and Pine in 4thward... also, Stool Pigeons is right across from the backside of Discovery place- 6th and Church- note that it is also a bar, but during the day, at lunch, I see lots of families in there... And, lastly, inside of Alley Cat(a bar/music venue/ has outdoor seating which would be family friendly) is The Penguin- a very famous old fashioned hamburger joint. The original Penguin is in Plaza Midwood, but they opened an uptown location right inside of Alley Cat- College b/w 6th and 7th... The Penguin makes the best burgers around, but I have yet to try out the uptown spot...
