Restaurant suggestions near Omni Shoreham
 

We're traveling to Washington April 1 (mom and kids 9, 15) and will be at the Omni Shoreham. Any restaurant suggestions for that area?

A restaurant called Open City opened in December just across the street from the Omni Shoreham. It's got an upscale diner menu and though it's more of a neighborhood place than a destination restaurant, it might be a good choice with your children. There are also a lot of ethnic restaurants in the neighborhood (including Afghan, Lebanese, Indian, and sushi).

If you walk up to Connecticut Ave, near the Metro station, there are blocks and blocks of ethnic family restaurants, every type you can imagine.

Check out the Woodley Park Grill. It is on Conneticut just a few doors down from the Metro stop and on the opposite side of the street. We were just there in the fall. The menu is diverse and the atmosphere is cozy yet still great for kids.

I agree on the recommendation for Open City. They have a very large menu with selections for all tastes! The coffee is great, and I feel that good coffee is hard to come by!
