I can't say about the places memtioned, but skip L'Auberge!! Overpriced and overated. You can much better for your money.

Just got back from there, so I can be of some help.

Garland's closes in the wintertime, so we didn't make it there.

We thought Hearline was overrated, though it was packed, so maybe others disagree. We didn't like our waitress, had to wait half an hour for a table (even with a reservation), and thought the food was just so-so.

I peeked in at Rene and thought it looked kind of stuffy. We ate at El Rincon, a Mexican place in the same shopping center, and loved it so much we returned two days later.

L'Auberge was extremely stuffy, though the food was good. But I wouldn't go back.

Yavapai at Enchantment was nice, but expensive. We enjoyed the food and the service. Their breakfast is really good, too.

We were VERY disappointed in Heartline. I would not recommend it.

Our favorite by far was Shugrue's Hillside Grille. For Mexican/southwestern, we liked Javelina. coincidentally, they have the same owner. You can see the menus for both at http://www.shugrues.com/hillside_grill.html.

Garlands is supposed to be European/family style, ulta-super fancy but I can't say I have been there. Jalisco in Sedona is great Mexican food.
