Restaurant recs. near the Hippodrome in Baltimore
I am going to be near the Hippodrome next week for a lecture. Can anyone recommend a nice restaurant for a late (9 pm-ish) dinner? There used to be an Irish pub in an old bank building where we used to go but it closed.
Thank you!

Where are you staying? I thought Maggie's (the Irish place) reopened under another name, but not sure. There's a Morton's close by, Cheesecake Factory in Harbor Place gets good marks. Sabatino's in Little Italy has long been a favorite late night dining spot.

Yes, Maggie's reopened under the new name of Lucy's...and that also closed last year. I'm not staying in Baltimore; it's a day trip. I was hoping there would be a place within walking distance of the H.

E_M there is not a lot in the immediate area. One place that you could probably walk to is Frank & Nick's West End Grill, which is a relatively new place in an apartment building called The Zenith, at Pratt & Paca Streets. I don't know a whole lot about the place.
You could also probably walk to the restaurant at the Monaco Hotel, at Charles & Baltimore streets, called B&O American Brasserie. Also new.
I really can't think of much else within walking distance of the Hippodrome - it's in a "pioneering" area that has not yet taken off. Maggie Moore's was good, but there are not enough shows at the Hippodrome to support much restaurant business. That late at night, you would have little problem finding parking if you don't mind driving a short distance. In fact, if you are going to be out for an hour or two after starting at 9, you really would be better off driving to a different neighborhood.
