Restaurant Recs in Boston
Hi All –
My fiancé and I are traveling up to Boston at the end of August for a friend’s wedding. We’re making a long weekend out of it and will be there from Friday to Monday. I’m looking for a restaurant recommendation for Friday night and somewhere good for lunches on Saturday and Monday. On Sunday we plan to eat at Island Creek Oyster Bar after the Red Sox game. I lived in Boston for a number of years during college and law school, but I’m not sure what the new great restaurants are these days. We are open to all cuisines and all neighborhoods. We don’t want anything fancy (i.e. tasting menus), but do want really good food. Thanks! |
Anyone?

Island Creek is our favorite restaurant in Boston too.
There is a new, waterfront Legal Seafoods, more upscale looking, out int the Seaport area. The Silver Line can deop you near there. Also out in Seaport is Babbo, Mario Battali's, excellent like his NYC Babbo's. Head to Cambridge for Oleana, fabulous, award winning. There is an outside patio but no reservarions for patio so have to get there early, or Alden and Harlow, delicious small plates, near Harvard Square. |
Island Creek is our favorite in Boston. Legal Seafoods has a new waterfront location called Legal Harborside out in tjemnew Seaport area. It's more upscale than their other locations and being on the watermis great. Also in Seaport you will find Babbo's from Mario Battali.

We loved Sportello, and a daily pit stop at Flour--all of the baked goods were amazing.

3 favorite things at Flour, The BLT. the Breakfast Sandwich and the decadent Carrot Cake, our go to for a Celebration when you want something different the Chocolate. A family favorite.
|
Our favorite is Mama Maria's in the North End. Wonderful food, they make all of their pastas in-house, including gluten-free pastas.

Thanks for all of the great suggestions!

We just went to Row 34 on Sunday. It is owned by the same people who own Island Creek Oyster. It is located on Congress Street in the Fort Point Channel area. . Mainly a seafood and oyster menu with lots of craft beers. I had the housemade Bucatini with shrimp and jalapenos. It was amazing.

Also ate at Legal Harborside 2x last week during my stay in Boston. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. Cannot beat the tables that are located right beside the wide open doors. Great water view and breeze. I love the rooftop bar.
