Restaurant recs-girls trip?
Forgive me for posting this twice, but I'm not sure I did it right the first time! 6 40-something moms are going to NY next month...want hip, hot restaurant recommendations, please. Already have a reservation at Vento. Just nothing that's break-the-bank expensive (Jean-Georges, etc.)Thank you so much!

I like Balthazar. Always a chance for celebrity sightings and the food is great. Even if you get a reservation, and that system is weird in and of itself, you'll probably have to wait 30-45 minutes. But the people-watching makes it alright. Prices out OK. I think last time we were there we spent $300 for 6, including wine and starters.

I agree with Balthazar. Was there in May with fellow 40 something friend for just a tart and a glass of wine and it was perfect. Great looking bartender and very trendy. Also had breakfast there with husband last year and loved it then. Also think about Esca and Union Square Cafe. Have fun!
