Restaurant recs for South Beach

Looking for a place to go for a special dinner with my husband in South Beach. Looked into Blue Door and Wish - would love feedback on those, or am open to other suggestions.
Also - we're from NYC, so not interested in any restaurants that have clones here.
Thanks!

I'm a South Beach regular and a serious foodie. Wish is one of my favorite dining destinations in the US, not just Miami. Awesome food, incredibly romantic atmosphere in their outdoor courtyard setting. Don't waste your time (and $) at Blue Door.

We loved Wish. It has serious vibe. Had we not gone to Wish we would have tried A Fish Called Avalon at the Avalon Hotel. We also heard good things about it.

For something less upscale in the SB area, there is a Haitian restaurant called Tap-tap that is very good. Huge hand-muralled walls too.

I'd probably skip Blue Door at the Delano, and just go to the Delano for a drink. I've heard wonderful things about Wish, and I also liked Barton G.'s--very romantic table outside.

A Miami institution and as still as popular, if not more so than it was 50 years ago, The Forge.
