Restaurant recommendations in Boston
My husband and I will be in Boston for our 30th wedding anniversary. We would like a recommendation for a restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. We don't want stuffy and like most cuisines. For this dinner, money is no issue.
Thank you in advance. |
L'Espalier at the Mandarin Oriental
Menton in Fort Point Channel Craigie on Main or Oleana in Cambridge Lucca or Tresca or Mamma Maria in the North End |
Ditto wyatt's suggestion.
I'd also add O Ya for Japanese, people recommend doing the omakase. At Craigie on Main, you should consider the tasting menu. |
Many excellent suggestions above -- L'Espalier is arguably the best restaurant in Boston. Am less taken with Lucca or Tresca than the rest. Also consider Clio, No. 9 Park, Pigalle, or Prezza.
Dress above jeans level and bring a healthy wallet, of course. |
Ok, not for your "blowout" meal but we loved Neptune, near Little Italy. Small, pretty, classic simple sea food. Outstanding lobster rolls (both hot and cold), oysters, etc. A classic spot.

Excellent, thank you. I now have some options to discuss with my husband.
We are excited to be returning to Boston, it's been too many years. |
Just wanted to say thank you for the recommendations. We ate at L'Espalier. Cragie on Main, and Bricco (recommended by the concierge at our hotel).
Bricco-nice ambiance, sat in the open window and we liked that. My meal was very good, my husband said his was okay. Very pricey. Cragie on Main- didn't care for the ambiance, the waiter was intrusive. The food was very good. L'Espalier- we were there on a Monday for the wine tasting/meal that the sommalier, Eric, hosted. The ambiance was superior, the food sublime, and the service wonderfully unobtrusive. I can't speak highly enough about how wonderful our experience was. And surprisingly, was not as expensive as our meal at Bricco. But 100 times better. Again, thank you for the recommendations, we really enjoyed our three days in Boston. The weather was wonderful and we walked until we had blisters. I love Boston! |
Thanks for reporting back, and I'm glad you enjoyed your time in Boston. Happy anniversary. Come back soon!
