Restaurant on Kauai for wedding gift certificate

My boss will be spending her honeymoon on Kauai. Can anyone recommend a restaurant that I could give her a gift certificate to. The certificate will be for $100.00. She's a vegetarian, but does eat some fish. Lovely setting and wonderful food is required. Thanks.

If they are staying in the Poipu area get them a gift certificate to the Beach House.

Wonderful food and an even more amazing atmosphere.

We had dinner at Gaylord's (about 10-15 minutes from Lihue) and loved it. Not the typical beach setting restaurant. It is on a hawaiian plantation and it is beautiful and VERY yummy food!!!

Pacific Cafe in Kapaa. They do indescribable things with fish!

I would go with Roy's because if they somehow don't get to use it in Kauai, there are several locations throughout the U.S. Also, Roy's is a bit more casual and not as much a dining "event" as Beach House or Pacific Cafe can be.

*A Pacific Cafe*.... hands down, if the food's the thing!

I think that the best restaurant on Kauai is A Pacific Cafe. Roys is great, too. I've not had as good of an experience at the Beach House although it does have a great sunset view.

The Bali Hai restaurant at the Hanalei Bay Resort in Princeville has got an outdoor terrace that overlooks the most gorgeous view on Kauai, bar none. It would be ideal for Sunday Brunch and perfect for honeymooners. The food's pretty good -- not on a par with Pacific Cafe, of course, which is near-phenomenal, but the ambiance at Pacific Cafe is nothing special . . . it's located in a strip mall on the highway. The food there, though, is spectacular. Both places have plenty of vegetable and fish offerings.

In addition to all of the above good 'ens, don't forget "Coconuts" (lobster ravs =P~ =P~=P~=P~) in Kapaa.

Huki Lau in the Coconut Beachboy (behind the Coconut Marketplace)is owned by the Gaylord's people.
Good food but service was still spotty.
Good wine list.

I keep forgetting the name of the place in Kilauea...next to Kilauea Bakery, Soap Store, theater. Had good fish, open air setting and good wine list too.

All of the above suggestions are right on. A Pacific Cafe probably has the best food but the ambiance is lacking in my opinion as there is a dismal view of the parking lot. Ditto Roys. If they are true gourmets then they won't care.

Beach House, Bali Hai. Cafe Hanalei have the best views.

Gaylord's has charm, no ocean view.

Nobody mentioned Duke's? They consistently make good fish, great ambiance.

I would find out where they are staying and get the certificat for a nearby restaurant that won't require a hefty drive.

DUKE'S!!!
Good call vivi. Guess we're trained to overlook the obvious?
Great salad bar, too.

Could you imagine how stuffed the Boss could get with a $100 gift cert on "Taco Tuesdays"? :-O
