Restaurant near Moving Image Museum? (NYC)
 

Can anyone recommend a place to eat near the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria? I want a place that is quite nearby, if such exists. Someplace we can get something to eat around 5 pm. Not fancy, just find-able.

There is a Tequilla Sunrise mexican restaurant in the neighborhood that i have been to.

Also nearby, but a looong walk (20 minutes) but a short (5 minute cab ride) is Sac's Pizza for one of the best square pizza slices NYC has to offer!

Elizabeth, I have one word for you -- Greek! There is a large Greek population and many, many Greek restaurants in this area. We were taken there by a friend who grew up in the neighborhood so I don't remember the exact name of the restaurant. If I can find out, I'll post back here.

For Greek food, Uncle George is a neighborhood institution. It's about a 15 minute walk at 33-19 Broadway.

Uncle George restaurant - can you give me walking directions from a) the museum

and also b) the subway station (Steinway)? complicated plans tomorrrow involving different people coming from different places. Thanks!!

To get to Uncle George from the museum, walk back up Steinway Street past the subway station until you reach Broadway. Cross Broadway, turn left and the restarant is maybe 5 blocks. It's on the corner of 33rd Street and Broadway.
