Restaurant near Bradley Airport

I'm heading up to CT on Thursday and am looking for a restaurant for lunch. We're coming into Bradley and will take Rt. 20 North towards Washington, CT. We're looking for some good New England food, no chains. Would love to get my steamer/clam fix ASAP!

Um, 20N goes nowhere near Washington especially from Bradley. You need to head Southwest from Windsor Locks. Most direct route is probably 91 South to 44 west to 202 South. There are chains there but I am not too sure of any local restaurants with steamers / clams. There is a ChowderPot in Hartford right off the highway.

On 2nd thought, I see why you are thinking 20 but that is bringing you way out of your way. 20 is very slow and windy. If you don't want the Chowderpot, take 20 West to West Granby then 219 South to 318 West (Saville Dam Road)thru Barkhamstead. This will bring you to 44 West and then Route 8 South to 202 South.

If you decide on the Chowder pot, just take 84 West to 202 South

Well it's a good thing I'm not driving! I was hoping to find someplace like a Lenny & Joes.

There's no place really like lenny and Joes where you are looking. Lenny and Joe's is by the water and where you're headed is nowhere near the shore. which is not to say that you can't find some good food along the way, but maybe not the steamers/clams you're looking for.

I found Maine Seafood Restaurant online which may be in the opposite direction of Washington, CT but Google shows it is only about 8 miles away. The location is 60 Bridge Street Warehouse Point East Windsor, CT

You might consider the Saybrook Fish House in Canton which could be roughly on the way to Washington as it is adjacent to route 202 which does go to Washington. They have good seafood though it's not guaranteed they will have the clams according to their website...depends on market conditions. Google them for their website which has menu, directions, etc.
