Restaurant idea NYC

Hello, My sister is visiting from Georgia and we are wanting to go into the city for dinner. A family of 8, youngest is 15. Good food, relaxed atmosphere. I know this is short notice for Friday night. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Any particular part of Manhattan? any particular kind of cuisine?

And, any particular price range?
Keep in mind that there are thousands of restaurants here, so you'l have to supply a lot more info to narrow down the options!

If you like italian, Tony Napoli's on the upper west side is family style, always busy with a good vibe, lots of families, good food...not cheap (what is?) but because it's family style, you actually don't need to order every dish for the number of folks in your party...think ordering Chinese restaurant style.

sorry...upper east side

There's also a Tony Napoli's in midtown as well.

Agree - there are hundreds of places - you need to provide some parameters to get useful recos.

I feel limited, since we are a group, and do not want to worry about being 8 at a table for 6. Most importantly nothing "stuffy". We prefer not Indian, or Thai I would think mid price range works. One family member will be coming from the Bronx, one mid town, two SoHo, and the rest of us fron NJ, maybe driving in or taking the Weehawkin ferry.

We have eaten at Tony Napoli and Carmine's in the past when our children were younger. At this point we are looking for better quality.

Need more refinement: What do you consider "mid price range"?

We would think $30.00 per entree. Is this mid range for NYC?
