Restaurant for lunch in Katy?
We are driving into Houston and want to stop for a late lunch in Katy. We live in Texas so are familiar with the chains (Pappa, etc) but is there anything new or different we might enjoy? My friend is having a medical test later so we are timing this so she can fast afterwards (so we can't just go on into Houston).
Thanks! |
We recently tried Willie's Grill and Ice House and thought it was great - really good burgers and pulled pork if you're okay with a casual atmosphere. Babin's has good seafood if you're up for that.
Here's a link to a bunch of Katy restaurants: http://www.b4-u-eat.com/eat002.asp?Z=&A=Katy&H=0&N=&S=N |
If you have time go to Ooh La La for dessert. :)

Thanks vg! I'm sure casual is fine and it's nice to have some recommendations to offer.

Sure thing, fyb; take a look at that website to see if anything else jumps out at you. Katy has tons of chain restaurants. Cheddar's and Carino's are pretty good for chains. Ooh La La is a cute little bakery - big thumbs up for that place. You can get things to go if you want to. I think they might even have a drive thru.

So the bakery is open? The menu says coming soon but of course it may just not be updated. I'd love to drive thru for a deluxe cupcake! Why don't they have those in San Antonio?
that link is fantastic. This way, no matter what she's in the mood for we have a choice. |
http://oohlalasweets.com/ is their link. They have one location already open and another one coming soon. We go there whenever we're out in Katy. They have great desserts too. The original location has been open for quite a while. It's kind of confusing the way their website reads, but it's definitely open. They also have mini cupcakes if you want to try a few different flavors. Yum!

I also like Beck's Prime for hamburgers. It is on Dairy Ashford, south of I-10.
