Restaurant delivery to hotels for breakfast
Will restaurants deliver to hotels? We're staying at the Westin Times Square. I was curious about breakfast.
|
It's called room service.
|
Interesting question. My guess is that they would deliver but who knows if the hotel allows food delivery.
|
I don;t think the hotel wold stop you - but they certainly wouldn;t be happy.
And the places that deliver would be simple coffee shops (few real restaurants - except in hotels - are open for breakfast). So all you'd end up with would be an egg sandwich in a bag - or a short-order cook omlet with soggy potatoes. Why not just order room service? |
Lots of these breakfast type places offer take-out. Truthfully, I'd place an order that way and send someone from my group to pick it up - you'd probably get it in a more timely fashion.

Pizza Hut and others deliver to hotel rooms all the time.
|
Hotels that don't offer room service and those with kitchens in rooms would be much more amenable. The Westin may have security and not allow deliveries upstairs. Here's a list of places with breakfast type food in the area that apparently deliver

The idea to have someone from your party run out and get some take-out is a good one. Between all of the bagel joints and deli's and manhattan, you'll find something great within a block or two.
|
Why not just go out and get breakfast if you don't want to pay for room service? The mind boggles.
|
It's not my money being spent, but after spending at least $320++ per night for the hotel seems like a small step to order room service for a couple of days.
If you are staying longer then why not just get dressed and go out for breakfast and be a part of it. |
Almost all hotels will allow restaurants to deliver...the delivery person will just have to ask the front desk to ring your room to meet you in the lobby.
They will very rarely allow the delivery person to go to your room. That being said....get out man, explore the city....finding a cool breakfast place is fun.... |
For a really good old-fashioned coffee shop breakfast, walk out of the Westin Times Square. You'll see a fairly large coffee shop right across 8th Avenue from you -- on the corner. It's cheap and good, but you may have to wait a few minutes to be seated along with all the NY cops and firemen.
