Restaurant close to LAX

We are staying 1 night at the Holiday Inn -LAX. Since we will be getting in around dinnertime, can anyone recommend a restaurant close to the airport, not too expensive, but nice? Thanks.

Unfortunately the area immediately around LAX is somewhat limited in terms of restaurants. However my favorite restaurant is actually AT LAX.
It's the Encounter, a totally unique themed restaurant that is a hoot, and quite popular with Entertainment industry party people etc. See the link below
http://www.geocities.com/asdhollywood/Encounter/

that same web site does state that "The Menu is pricey and the location is difficult to get to from the LAX", so it may not fit Debbie's "not too expensive" requirement.

note- all private car parking at LAX is still banned.

Try HOuston's on Rosecrans, just south of the airport (steaks, ribs, pasta, seafood) or Alejo's on Lincoln in Westchester just north of the airport (Italian).

You will need a cab to get to Houston's and all the others I will mention. P. F. Chang's is directly across the street from Houston's and is very good. McCormick & Schmidt's is also in the same place but, pricier. Barnaby's, on Sepulveda is also good.

Are these in the new shopping center by the Howard Hughs exit from the 405?
Is this a nice area to stroll around in between planes?

Cafe Del Rey in Marina del Rey is very good and not too pricey. Short taxi ride from LAX.

A short cab ride to Playa del Rey will get you to two very good restaurants. Taormino (great Italian) not too expensive, small and intimate. Call first. Then down the street about two blocks is the La Marina. Nery good food at reasonable prices, full bar, piano bar.Steaks and fish primarily. Then there is Outlaws..across the street from La Marina..very rustic, trendy, spot with good food, bar and very good prices..a spot the locals are drawn to. All of these places are on Jefferson Blvd. in Playa del Rey.
