Restaurant Advice in Chinatown NYC?
Can anyone recommend a good Chineese / Dim Sum Restaurant in Chinatown in New York City.
Thank you |
If you're not that particular about having dim sum, Joe's Shanghai on Pell St. is one good Chinese restaurant. In spite of it's name, it is real Chinese food resturant (not the usual Americanized beef-and-brocolli and chow mein stuff).

We love Dim Sum. We are native New Yorkers now living in Tampa, Florida. Really haven't had gooooood chineese food in a loooooong time. We are visiting for a short weekend trip with family and were going to go to china town / little italy (Antonios is the Place to go there). Always find ourselves going around in circles now sure which chinese restaurant is the best. If you have anymore picks please forward them.

Here goes:
Congee Village (Allen St. bet. Delancey/Bowery) - not a dim sum place, but locals flock here fo some excellent Cantonese food. It's out of the tourist radar, but just about on the northern outskirts of Chinatown. Big Wong (Elizabeth/Bayard) - Very good lobster dish in either black bean sauce or ginger/garlic. Mei Lai Wah Coffee House (Bayard St. off Mott) - An NYC institution (and revered by NYC foodies) for those steaming rice buns with fillings that they steam/bake on the premises or from somewhere deep from within those dungeons in their restaurant. They have limited dim sum menu. |
