Resorts in Fort Lauderdale

Hi,
I've been looking into a few places around fort lauderdale to stay at in march. I would appreciate any comments from the people on the board. I am looking for a place on or a short walk from the beach that is kid (2 yr old) friendly. So far, I've checked into:

Sea Gardens Beach & Tennis Resort
Santa Barbara Resort
Royal Vista Resort

Any comments?

Hi Jim - It isn't exactly a resort, but it is near the beach and plenty of action. Pier 66.

Have you considered Largo Mar Resort & Club or the Marriott's Harbor Beach Resort?

Hi, thanks, I have looked into the Pier 66, Lag Mar, and Marriott. They are all slightly out of my price range. I have found the above list through a realtor that offers weekly rentals and am looking for feedback on them.

Thanks,
Jim

My parents have stayed at Sea Gardens several times. They enjoyed it. Since it (and Santa Barbara) are time-share there are reviews on tug2.net (users only). Here is some info from TUG (timeshare users group)...
Santa Barbara has a better rating 8.45 vs. Sea Garden with 7.75(out of 10). Sea Garden is right on the beach and received positive reviews (some glowing). Santa Barbara also had positive ratings, but not as glowing (sometimes the rating doesn't reflect the experience) It was supposed to be refurbished last fall, however. Royal Vista is Santa Barabara's sister property (across the street on the beach) so guests can use both properties. They have nicer pools, but that was all I could learn. Hope this helps!
